Privacy is about the right of all citizens and employees to protection of their private lives. The collection and exchange of data is vital to the realisation of our social purposes. The protection of personal data and lawful data processing are an essential part of that data exchange. Because the protection of personal data is important and substantially contributes to the realisation of our social purposes, Atlas Living Environment highly values privacy: we process personal data lawfully and in a transparent manner, in accordance with legislation and regulations.

Atlas Living Environment uses data that persons share with us either directly or through professionals in the field; voluntarily, based on a legal obligation, or because - for example, by way of scientific research - it is in the interest of our national and sometimes international public health and our living environment.

Protection of personal data

The use of personal data is legally laid down in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the GDPR Implementation Act. The Dutch Data Protection Authority is the supervisory authority that monitors compliance with that Regulation and Act.

How does the Atlas Living Environment handle your personal data?

The Atlas Living Environment uses your personal data solely for the purpose for which you have left or provided them. For example, if you have registered for a study, the Atlas Living Environment will use your data for that study only. If you wish to register for a meeting or to receive specific information or a leaflet, your data will be used for that purpose only.  The Atlas Living Environment will not retain personal data any longer than necessary for the purpose for which you have left them.

Personal data may, however, be used for investigations. This may be, for example, if a person uses the website to commit criminal offences or issues punishable communications.

Ruimte in de stad is schaars wordt er geroepen. Tegelijkertijd zijn er parken, hofjes en pleintjes waar niemand wil komen. Ook is er behoefte aan steeds meer woningen in de stad én aan een omgeving die sociale interactie, beweging, klimaatadaptatie en biodiversiteit bevordert. Kortom de buitenruimte staat onder druk. Aoife Wuller legt uit hoe zij in haar werk harde en zachte data combineert. Zij komt daarmee tot een integrale afweging om het voorzieningenniveau op peil brengen. En neemt ambities zoals klimaatadaptie, biodiversiteit en inclusiviteit daarin mee.

Natuur en erfgoed zijn de lievelingsplekken van recreanten en toeristen. Juist op die plekken wordt het drukker, onveiliger en minder schoon. Tegelijkertijd staat Nederland een groei van het aantal inwoners en toeristen te wachten. Tinco Lycklama laat zien hoe dit de druk op bestaande gebieden verhoogt. En hoe je hiermee omgaat (sturen op balans) als beheerder of bijvoorbeeld beleidsmaker. Hij houdt tevens een pleidooi voor het inplannen van extra recreatieruimte in woningbouwplannen.
